I have suffered depression in the past. But not as severly as to say Bipolar not a nice thing to go through.

It is manageable, with medications. Relapses can occur weeks or months after ceasing medications, so don't trust how you feel. Keep your life as stable as you possibly can, by that I mean e.g don't complicate BPD with alcohol abuse or recreational drug use, sleep at regular times, eat healthily and exercise regularly.
